I was born in Mexicali, Mexico (a border city just across from Calexico, California). I came to the United States at age 12, graduated from high school in Calexico, and then moved to San Diego. While living in San Diego, I met my wife (also a Mexicali native). We married in 2000, and have one daughter, born in that same year. My family and I moved to the Coachella Valley in January 2009.

I started working in residential construction in 2000 and then began by working with a big home builder in its customer service department.

Then I moved to work for a general contractor who did remodels. At the same time, I also worked for a few painting companies. In 2008, I began working for a large painting contractor and became project manager in charge of five painting crews. In the process, I realized I had always wanted to start my own business. So in 2016, I decided to combine my skills, background, and desire to create Ivan’s Painting & Maintenance Services, serving the Greater Coachella Valley!
